ASSAULT OF CHILDREN AT BARRIE DAYCARE!
I am sharing this to raise awareness and to protect other children in our community. My family has experienced something no parent or child should ever have to face.
At BRIGHTPATH KIDS daycare, located at 133 Mapleview Drive W in Barrie, my daughter endured unimaginable mistreatment. She was sprayed in the face multiple times with a spray bottle containing a chemical cleaning solution made of soap and bleach—meant to disinfect surfaces, not to be used on a childs face when "mis behaving". She was also assaulted when the same daycare worker pinched her in the mouth.
These incidents were investigated by Children’s Aid, the Ministry of Education, and the Barrie Police. The findings confirmed that this individual intentionally caused harm and placed my daughter at significant risk of injury. It was also confirmed that other staff members witnessed these events and failed to report them. It was also identified that these actions were also performed on other children not just mine.
Despite these serious findings, BrightPath Kids chose to continue employing this individual, claiming that additional training was a more appropriate response due to their tenure with the company. Barrie Police issued only a caution for assault with a weapon, and no formal charges have been laid to date.
As a parent, I am heartbroken and outraged. I trusted this centre with my child’s safety and care, and instead, she suffered trauma and harm at the hands of those responsible for protecting her.
I am speaking out because parents deserve transparency. Our community deserves to know when a childcare facility fails to uphold its duty to protect the most vulnerable. I have begun the process of civil action and will not stay silent while those responsible avoid accountability.
Please share this message with whoever you can including tagging media to help bring awareness to this issue. Every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment, and those who harm children must be held accountable—without exception!
